How to prepare your skin for a hot summer!

Most of us change over our closets as the weather starts getting hotter, filling them with light summer clothes. However, did you know that your skincare routine should also be adapted according to the season? Long sunny days spent at the beach, as well as days spent in air-conditioned rooms can cause our skin to get dry and flaky. However, by making a few simple changes to your skincare routine, you can keep your skin looking great and feeling soft all year round. Below are some ways how you can prepare and take care of your skin this summer.

Moisturize daily

Most people tend to keep their skin very well moisturized during the winter – only to forget about their skincare routine during the summer when many of us tend to get greasier skin. Although your skin might feel more sweaty and greasy in summer, the combination of the sun’s strong UV rays, as well as the harsh, drying effect of air-conditioning means that we should strive to keep our skin well moisturized during the summer too.  Our Matte Moisturizer is perfect for those who experience greasy skin in summer as it is oil-free and contains anti-bacterial properties to reduce any blemishes. Keep your skin and yourself hydrated throughout the day

Air-conditioning tends to dry the air around us, and this lack of humidity affects the outer layer of the skin, reducing its elastic properties and resulting in rough, dry and sensitive skin.  In order to combat this, make sure to keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of water throughout the day. If you find that you struggle to drink enough water, try infusing it with some cucumber and mint leaves for a more refreshing twist! Eating watery fruits such as watermelons are a great way of keeping hydrated, and fruits such as bananas and avocados are also very beneficial for the skin.

Treat your body to a great night-time routine
