LAST VACATION OF THE SUMMER-TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN INFLIGHT!
Going on Vacation? Here’s Our In-Flight Skincare Routine!
Whilst you’re probably dreaming of going on vacation and arriving back home with a gorgeous post-holiday glow (and lots of photos to make your colleagues jealous!), it’s easy to forget how an airplane environment can leave your skin feeling dry and looking flaky, dull and tired. Follow our in-flight skincare routine below to make sure that you step off the plane looking fresh!
Makeup Off – Skincare On!
First things first. We always recommend that when traveling on a plane, you do so without any makeup on. Whether that means that you travel to the airport makeup-free or you remove it before boarding your flight, it’s very important to travel with well-cleansed skin. Using a gentle cleanser, such as our Gentle Foaming Cleanser, before boarding your flight will get rid of any dirt, impurities and excess oils.
The dry environment on an aircraft paired with heavy makeup or dirt creates the perfect environment for clogged pores and acne breakouts. In addition to this, certain makeup products such as some foundations and powders can cause your skin to dry out even further, resulting in dull-looking, flaky skin – not the look you were hoping for on those Insta-snaps, right!?
Instead of worrying about your makeup, focus on your skincare. At Privai, we developed the Travel Discovery Kit. The kit comes in a beautiful rose gold cosmetic bag and is filled with all your daily natural skincare essentials, including six different products which allow you to take great care of your skin wherever you are!
Hydrate your skin – and then hydrate some more!
The air inside an airplane is incredibly low in humidity, pressurized and recycled. This means that airplanes can be severely dehydrating on our bodies and drying on our skin. The good news is that there are several ways to counteract these dry conditions whilst flying to your dream location.
The first thing to do is to make sure that you are well hydrated by drinking a glass of water before boarding your flight, and keeping a bottle of water with you to sip on during your flight.
The low humidity conditions on a flight can take its toll on your skin unless you keep it well moisturized. Choose a light, oil-free moisturizer such as our Matte Moisturizer, which you can find in our Travel Discovery Kit and stay away from products that leave an uncomfortable, heavy residue on the skin to ensure you feel comfortable throughout the flight. Apply this to your skin mid-flight to prevent dryness and acne breakouts.
It’s also a great idea to pack a Lip Crème when going on vacation, and keep this with you on your flight. Apply this a few times whilst you are flying to avoid getting dry, chapped lips which the dry airplane air can cause.
Once you step off your flight, give your skin a proper treat by scrubbing away any dry, dead skin cells using the Rice Flower Polish and hydrating the skin using the Aqua Gel Masque to soothe and calm the skin.
Finally, put on a smile – you’re on vacation!
